Bulgaria beat Poland twice in the last weekend of Intercontinental round in The World league 2013. After a straight victory on Friday, Bulgaria, led by outstanding Tsvetan Sokolov (he scored 31 points) and unstoppable Todor Aleksiev, claimed tie-break despite Poland was already losing 0:2. Having two teams with strong will for the victory was the best that could happen in the Palace of Culture and Sports. Poland was anxious to fix yesterday’s errors and Bulgaria fought hard for a win to prove that USA’s loss against Brazil wasn’t their only ticket into the Finals. “It was a hard match,” said Bulgaria’s captain Todor Aleksiev. “We already knew we has qualified for Argentina, and it was hard for us. I am glad we won for our great support. I hope we will do something in the Final round. I don't want to speak of chances, but we are going there to play good volleyball like what we have been doing through the whole League. We will see what we can do."
