After 5 successful seasons together, #ÁgathaRippel and #EduardaSantosLisboa part their ways following the World Tour 4-star event in Itapema. It was an emotional and successful farewell for the Brazilian pair as they ended their partnership at the top of the podium.

Ágatha/Duda on the podium in their first (Rio de Janeiro 2017) and last (Itapema 2021) World Tour victories together

Over these years, Ágatha/Duda have become one of the most victorious teams in beach volleyball with more than 300 match victories and 50 podiums. Major Championships did not go particularly their way as they faced a heart-breaking loss to Kozuch/Ludwig in the second round of the Tokyo Olympics and finished 17th & 9th respectively in 2017 & 2019 Worlds but with the victory in their final event, the 38-year-old Ágatha and the 23-year-old Duda ended their time together with 23 medals in 42 international events. Among those medals 8 were golds, with their most notable victories taking place at the 2018 World Tour Finals in Hamburg and the 2019 Olympic test event in Tokyo. They also won 14 events on the Brazilian Tour and were the national champions in the 2020-2021 season.

Here are the 8 World Tour victories of this outstanding duo:

1. #WorldTourRiodeJaneiro2017 (4-star)

2. #WorldTourItapema2018 (4-star)

3. #WorldTourFinals2018

4. #WorldTourOstrava2019 (4-star)

5. #WorldTourTokyo2019 (4-star)

6. #WorldTourCancúnII2021 (4-star)

7. #WorldTourGstaad2021 (4-star)

8. #WorldTourItapema2021 (4-star)

Also let's remember some of the best moments they produced throughout their partnership:

  • Best of Ágatha and Duda (2017-2020)
  • Best of Ágatha and Duda (2021)

What's the Future?

While Duda has already announced that she’ll be pairing with her former partner and fellow Tokyo Olympian Ana Patrícia for the Beach Pro Tour in 2022, Ágatha is yet to pick a partner. She confirmed after the Itapema final that she’ll continue playing, but is still looking at potential teammates.

Best of luck for both of them!
