The pair Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen became the first Dutch team to win a World Championships medal when they beat Ricardo Santos and Alvaro Filho to claim gold in the final of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships Mazury 2013 on Sunday. One of the tallest and youngest beach volleyball teams in the world were the pleasant surprise of the ninth World Championship, held in the small, but vivid Polish village Stare Jablonki. There were a lot of question marks at the beginning of the week and it would be just the right moment to have a new duo driving through the tournament's scheme, but one would hardly ever predict such a stunning championships' debut for Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen.
