From the official rules of volleyball ( fivb.com ):
Blocking is the action of players close to the net to intercept the ball coming from the opponents by reaching higher than the top of the net, regardless of the height of the ball contact.
It was an error and nobody don't change that it was a block attempt. He had his hands over the net, because he was at least 10cm over the court and he's 195cm tall. It makes that he has at least 255cm reach. He had his arms above his head, but not straight. It makes that his reach decreased about 20cm. 255+10-20=245cm (AT LEAST) so he definately had his fingers above the net. It's an incredible player, but he made an error.
hey someone, that does mean that he contacted the ball over the net, just because the tips of his fingers reach over the top of the net.
I think the call was fine. The other team tried to call him on a double touch??? It was a hard driven ball, how else could you possibly define it, and there is absolutely no difference between what he did here, and him taking 2 steps back, getting on his knees on the attack line, and sticking his hands in the air, hoping not to get hit in the face.
1. That wasn't an error, he didn't have his hands over the net, even a finger. All you need to understand is some theory about angles. First one showed nothing, because the camera was too high over the net, second replay showed he didn't make a mistake. Maybe he was a few centimeteres above, but after the ball bounced of his hands.
2. The fact he jumped doesn't change anything, because there's no point about that in volleyball rules.
3. Genious play, so as the player.
I saw it only one time, when Sergio made it without error. That is dafinately an error, because player who is over then 190cm tall has over than 243cm standing reach (I have 181cm and 241cm reach).
Referee error. Zagumny made this 10x better, and he don't score point, because he had hands higher than net. Nicola too, and his foots didn,t touch floor. Sorry for english.
Nagięcie zasad siatkówki specjalnie dla Szanownego Pana Nikoli? :P
W drugiej linii, ręce powyżej górnej taśmy i na dodatek nogi oderwane od podłoża - tego bloku być nie powinno ;)
