Russia - Canada (World League 2013, short cut)
Canada won against Olympic champion! After a long and exciting battle, Canada claimed their historical victory in the finals of the World League. Russia was leading 2:0, but they lost game in the tie-break. Best player of match was Gordon Perrin with 20 points. In three previous matches between the two countries, Russia had won them all - one in five sets under the old scoring system and two in straight sets at the World Cup 1999 and World Championships 2006. Coach of Canada national team: Glenn Hoag said: "I'm very happy with the win, it's a big step for us to come here, our programme has evolved in the last six years and this is a great accomplishment, but this tournament is far from over, and it's going to be a big fight tomorrow against an excellent team again".
