Earlier this week (13/08/2021), FIVB announced a new format for the upcoming 2022 VNL. 16 teams will be competing in pools of 8 teams during the round robin phase. 8 teams will then move on to play in the final knockout phase. Teams will play 12 games in three weeks during the preliminary phase with their respective pools. The new format allows for each gender to play on alternating weeks.
