CEV Satellite Montpellier 2013 (part3)

The inaugural CEV Satellite tournament in Montpellier (June 9, 2013) came to a close on Sunday afternoon with Robert Kufa/Jan Hadrava (CZE) and Teresa Mersmann/Julia Grossner (GER) standing on top of the podium. The last acts of the event lived up to all expectations and provided the fans in Montpellier with exciting matches and world-class actions. Yannick Salvetti and Jean-Baptiste Daguerre (FRA) had to be content with fourth place at the end of a nevertheless memorable tournament. In the final match Robert Kufa and Jan Hadrava of the Czech Republic got past Murat Giginoglu and Selcuk Sekerci of Turkey 3:1 (8:11, 11:8, 11:7, and 11:9). These games did draw the line on five days of great actions for a tournament where an innovative scoring system with matches played in a “best of five” format and with each set up to 11 points - was tested for the first time.
