@Sherlock I think the Olympics finals 9 years ago proves he isn’t a fit for outside hitting And the 2019/ 2020 further solidified the story. I am interested in seeing how Russia will prepare for their Olympics.

VNL men roster announced. 2 years ago +1

@johanneslei TBH, if they try to bring home the Olympics gold, they have to at the very least beat teams like France, Canada, USA, Argentina and Iran. Neither of the teams mention are easy to beat. I hope that they break their Olympic curse.

Matteo Piano stays in Milano for another season.

@J.P. I think this where reputation and how it seems to outside people, as people who watch volleyball but doesn't know the names in detail. Certainly Travica sounds more premium than Spirito, he is afterall a bronze medalist in the Olympics, but Spirito has yet to be have a lot of international experience. I think this is the bigger reason why teams picked Travica over Spirito.

I haven't watch enough of him to make comments about him but watching a few matches makes me feel like he doesn't get great height with his set. I feel like some of the setters get great height and speed with the set and he doesn't have the same amplitude. I am guessing maybe his style doesn't necessary fit into the game of some teams?

@MefiuLeon

this will be the last time that I will talk about Plotniski with you.

a) thats your opinion on the player and stop insulting players

b) have some respect to players regardless of your own opinion

c) have some respect to people opinion

d) it doesn’t matter if he stays or not at the end of the day he is playing at the top level and not us who are yapping about him. he is the one who is getting the last laugh out of us.

@johanneslei regarding my thoughts on Italy only throwing their “b” team to VNL is that they try to “protect“ their players from injury. I am not happy about the decision nor do I think it’s ethical to host a tournament and then turn their back against fans that will watch VNL.  Regardless of how Italy is going to treat VNL in the coming days or future, they are doing diservice for the games and their reputation. As for they are training themselves and play against themselves for the Olympic preparation team, I guess Blegani has mind of its own to do the magic it takes for Italy to win a gold medal.

@MefiuLeon Surely Ter horst can play as the opposite so Leon and Anderson play the outside. Problem solved. Your Plotnitskiy can be the reserved outside in case They need reception.

@PRÄNKBRÖT How much will they paid for Italy's second/third best setter. I don't think Milano should give away him unless it's a good amount.

@Sherlock I wouldn't be shock if he wants to spend more time with his family. Seeing that he is enjoying family time with his one year old son along with his wife. Wish him the best.

@Bob1988 Can you taste the sour patch kids in their mouth.

@robj3 It's finalised today that Grbic is moving to Perugia

Le Roux missing from the list.?

@Sherlock I think it's that if you qualify for the finals in VNL, you have to bring a certain amount of the squad that has played in preliminary round in VNL. I think China has done this with the women side where they qualify for the finals but bought a very water down list players to the finals.

@Sherlock ? maybe. But he should be able to find good team in France. wouldnt he. Let’s wait and see.

@Sherlock I think I was surprised by the level of setting from Chaboissant. He looks pretty beat with his right wrist at the time but man if he is going to play in liga A team, he should be starting.

Yuki Ishikawa staying for 2021- 2022 season in Milano. I am happy to see him in Milano. I think he has grown on me quite a lot with the Milano squad.

@jais I certainly watch players in Korea have a very hard time adjusting to a very hectic schedule. It's certain not a big block but they do have long rallies and good defense. Certain I don't think Korea is somewhere you stay and train. It is somewhere that you need to perform and put on a show. Keita was playing in Serbia for two years prior making it to Korea and I think in 2022 or 2023 he will make a jump to Italy, Poland or Russia.

@jais Yeah, I thought he will be playing till 2024 Paris Olympics for Trentino.

@RevanExtasisEvo I think the Korean league is one of the best way to get your name out in the public. Many players like Ter horst, Padar, Udrys went on to bigger leagues and better leagues after graduating from the Korean league. Even Matt Anderson started his Pro career in Korea. It's certainly not for the faint hearted nor is it the best league, but certainly if you have the ability and skill, the Korean league can be a stepping stones towards greater future.
