To add an active player as also a staff member, is the only way to do that is mark them as retired, add them as a staff member, and then remove the retirement? Am I missing an alternative?

If I try to add Arisa Sato as Coach of Ligare Sendai, she won't show up in the "Type a Staff Member" search unless she's marked as retired first. So ... "Create New" Staff person and then flag "was pro player" and it will merge to her player profile .... It's easier to mark her as retired, add her and un-retire her, but I see what you're suggesting and think I understand why it has to be that way.

@sitenoise you can also add staff member and there is "was pro player" flag in the Settings box.

The tricky part is what to do when the "Is it a duplicate" pops up during the "Create New Staff".
