Maxim Mikhaylov prolonged the contract with Zenit for another season. Nothing is gonna happen with his trip to Italy.

@J.P. Well as far as I'm concerned Modena fans are over the moon about Ngapeth - from what I could've find out they really love him. I agree that it will be uplifting to have a strong outside hitter who can finish off balls (also I hope Lavia will develop next season and become even better than he is this season - if it will go as it loooks like than he can become top 7 outside hitters in SuperLega).

@J.P. Yep, I agree. Though nobody knows how he will perform on the top level, so it's a bit risky investition. But he already was second opposite with Sokolov in Lube. I don't know him very well so I can't say…

@J.P. So probably next season we'll see him in the A1.. I just wonder where..? Maybe Ravenna or something similar..

It's crazy how efficient that guy was throughout the whole match. I mean to be 69 % with 61 balls that's quite a stat. And also as you said horrible attacking percentage of the recievers, and also middles, together they averaged 50 %, which is quite low for a middle blocker. So yeah looks like Cantagalli carries the whole team.

@J.P. interesting. Hope he won't be making too much problems…he is quite a problematic player.

But Modena loose Christenson next season.

Lube easily won 4th set 25:17. Final score 3:1 for Lube. Lube played realy good game.

We saw the return of Atanasijević, but he simply doesn't look like he is in form. Perugia needs more firepower in the attack if they want to compete with Lube imo.

Lube started 4th set ferociously…8:4.

Second set, 5 blocks in a row from Lube..Perugia couldn't find a way past high block of Civitanova side. 20:12 for Lube at the moment.

Drama! From 18:14 for Perugia, Leon attacked the ball out and got blocked from zone 1. Now the result is 19:17 for Perugia.

And the pressure was good - Plotnytski found his serve, three very strong serves in a row, getting some break points. Lube time out. After time-out Oleg continued with a strong serve, Juantorena attacks in out from pipe. :o

Perugia really struggles from the service line right now. 3 or 4 errors in first 8 points in the second set. They are trying to put Lube's reception under pressure but it's not exactly a success story so far.

@PierreFoucault Yes, I did so number of times…didn't work. Well, it happens.

@PierreFoucault i started in it but then it stopped working and it was just buffering all the time ?

Volleyball at it's finest!

Padova and Vibo Valentia interested in Nishida for the next season.

None of the teams have the opposites of the highest caliber, even though Štern is putting quite high numbers in Padova. So therefore I wouldn't know why they want to let him go, if he is the most prolific player in the team. In VV Aboubacar does not give enough to the team's offense, so maybe.

I think Yuji would be amazing fit for VV's game (if they keep Saitta and Defalco) - because he plays very quick game and that would go well with the team's current state of playing philosophy; small and quick on the wings. I do wonder however if he will be able to transform his game into the Italian context. Block is much higher and more solid, the game is very physical and he is not the most physical player. So he might have some problems, especially with the high balls…and in my opinion he can be at best average opposite in Superlega (never the opposite for the top 5 teams).

He is really popular though, everywhere, in Asia and in Europe. Justin Bieber of volleyball…

I agree, that's a good feature. :)

@Archivist Well yes, but besides money, a very motivating factor for the players is also the fact that this is the strongest league in the world. I mean in my opinion the lower-part-of-the-chart teams (like Verona, Padova, Milano in the moment) are way better than the lower part of the Russian or Polish league. And the fact that every single game can be lost is a very motivating factor to choose Superlega over other leagues imo.

@PierreFoucault where has Sherlock gone? ?

Gonna check out instagram to see if I understand something.

Yes, with Rossard being their best player it's a bit tough situation, especially because they don't really have the opposite that would be top of the top for the Italian league. They will have hard time in the Play-Offs, but maybe there will be a surprise…you never know.
